Flower Power Friday, Aug 5th

Wild Iris grow in our woods. They are beautiful and abundant. We've make walking trails through the woods to view and enjoy them.

Hope you enjoy! Happy Friday to all.

Yes, definitely. I've been told it's also called Wild Iris. Either way, it's beautiful.

Thanks for the Stumble. I too love this flower for it's vibrant color.

Mari Sterling Wilbur said...

Thank you, David. The yellow is amazing against the purple - the colors set each other off like fireworks.

Mari Sterling Wilbur said...

I like the fireworks affect of these colors together :D

I miss living in California when I could photograph flowers year round. Our winters are so bleak and rainy in Seattle!

Mari Sterling Wilbur said...

This one's for you - "wild iris"! Beautiful flower with a wild side.

Mari Sterling Wilbur said...

Thanks Bec - it's always so nice when they start blooming.

Mari Sterling Wilbur said...

Me too! Thank you for your comment.

They are amazing. I left you a comment on your site.

They are beautiful at the edge of the woods. They add a gorgeous splash of color.

And years of photo classes and seminars plus an art degree. But I think anyone can take fantastic photos with any type of camera and minimal post edit work. Your yellow Friday Flower is stunning :D

This is just lovely, Mari. I will definitely join in the Flower Friday posting in the near future! I live in TN and our state flower is the purple iris. Nothing defines summer more than the fragrance of an iris, and their varying forms are so beautiful to look at.  I am envious of your walking trails in the woods.  I miss that, living out in the country and being able to walk in the woods. I hope you take more photos as y'all get those trails laid out!

LOVE the texture in the center of the photo.  I feel like my hands would be yellow with pollen if I touched it.  :)
